Handmade means each Blu Sun™ vessel is created without the use of industrialized processes or mass production. Each Blu Sun™ vessel is individually hand-built from natural clay by incredible potters in the USA. I then hand pour and package each candle individually. From idea to execution, the reusable vessels you invest into here at Blu Sun™ involve hands-on creativity, care, and craftsmanship in every step of the way to ensure you are provided with a high quality product, that lasts a lifetime.

It is a top priority to ensure all materials used to create Blu Sun™’s candles are earth-derived. This ensures we are not compromising our health, earth and homes. The vessels are made from natural clay, poured with 100% soy wax and use essentials oils to create the aroma. The natural wooden wicks are hand-assembled and trimmed to precise heights to provide a soot-free burn. My hope is that by crafting timeless, reusable candles from natural ingredients, together, we can do our part to positively impact our earth and our homes.

I do my best to ensure all packaging materials used for Blu Sun™ do not negatively impact the Earth. Although I will not be perfect, I promise to do my best. I opted for recyclable and biodegradable materials to decrease our part in landfill contribution. Together through small, sustainable choices, we are making a difference.

Many mass-produced candles contain toxic ingredients like paraffin wax made from petroleum, synthetic fragrances, and artificial dyes that release carcinogens and other harmful fumes when burned. That means your homes air quality and your health, becomes compromised whenever said candles are lit. Here at Blu Sun™, I want you to experience your candles knowing you are avoiding exposure to chemicals, hence why I do my best to design them to be built with earth-derived materials.

No not necessarily. Each vessel is handmade here in the USA by incredible potters, but it does not mean the color-ways/glazes will continue to be available. The colors can shift in tones, or eventually, not be available at all. And technically some shapes may not be exact either once gone. At this time, each vessel/model is small batch meaning they are first come, first serve.

Listen, I get it. Most of us think trimming our wicks is a myth. It’s not. Before lighting your Blu Sun™ candle, be sure to trim the wooden wick to 1⁄4 inch (6 mm) in length. This allows just the right amount of wood to peek out above the soy wax and creates the ideal sized flame for complete melt pool as the candle burns. A shorter wick prevents excess smoke while a longer one can tunnel down into the wax too quickly. Trimming sets up your Blu Sun™ candle for the cleanest burn. Trim, light, lay back.

Your candle is not a birthday cake. So, you don’t want to light it, and blow it out, too quickly. For best results with your Blu Sun™ candle, allow the wax to burn evenly across the entire surface before blowing out the flame. As the candle melts, you'll notice the wax pooling outward from the wick to fill the container. For the most complete melt and to prevent tunneling, let wax pool all the way to the edges before blowing out the flame. The full melt pool helps the candle burn slower and more evenly.
